Adorned Lined Wrasse
Scientific Name: Halichoeres cosmetus
Maximum Length: About 5–6 inches
Favorite Things: Rockwork with plenty of hiding crevices, open sandbeds, and stable reef conditions. The Adorned Lined Wrasse is a beautifully patterned Halichoeres species featuring fine, detailed striping, bright facial markings, and a clean, streamlined look. They are active swimmers, constantly patrolling the aquarium for pests like small worms and unwanted invertebrates.
They eat a varied diet of frozen mysis, brine, calanus, krill blends, and high-quality pellets.
Best Buddies: Perfect for peaceful to semi-aggressive reef communities with tangs, clowns, gobies, anthias, fairy wrasses, and dwarf angels. Completely reef-safe with corals. As with most Halichoeres, they may eat very small ornamental shrimp or tiny snails. Needs a secure lid—they are excellent jumpers.
