Maximum Length: About 4–5 inches
Favorite Things: Quiet aquariums with floating plants, dim lighting, and minimal surface agitation. A surface-dwelling ambush predator, it feeds on insects and floating foods such as freeze-dried krill, floating pellets, and small live insects. Its broad, winglike pectoral fins allow it to glide and even leap from the water when startled.
Best Buddies: Peaceful with larger, non-nippy mid and bottom dwellers like Congo Tetras, Rainbowfish, Synodontis Catfish, and Ropefish. Avoid small tankmates (neon tetras, guppies, etc.) that may be mistaken for food. Keep with a tight-fitting lid—expert jumper.
