One of North America's most iconic freshwater predators, featuring an armored prehistoric appearance, broad alligator-like snout, and incredible growth potential. Juveniles are active, hardy, and fascinating to watch, making them a favorite among monster fish enthusiasts. This species quickly outgrows most aquariums and is best suited for very large custom aquariums or ponds.

300 gallons (juveniles can be started in smaller systems but require rapid upgrades)

Carnivore pellets, fish, shrimp, earthworms, frozen meaty foods
