Alternanthera Reineckii (Scarlet Temple)

This background plant has a reddish tint to it, and pops in bright light in an aquarium. It is a 3 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 because it has slightly thin leaves which might cause a few to fall during tank transition. Minimal fertilization will help but is not required.

This plant isn't quite as easy as Rotala, but it's close. Plant bottom of stem directly into substrate. Once it is established you will be impressed with its leaves red color. It is best used as a back ground or mid ground plant if you want to keep it trimmed. Can handle low lighting, but grows faster and looks better in higher light. This plant can handle the high 60s but it enjoys an even 70-74 degrees!
