Maximum Length: About 8-12"
Favorite Things: Long swim lanes, strong flow, and constant algae grazing; supplement with nori/seaweed sheets and herbivore pellets. Juveniles are bright yellow and gradually turn blue as they mature.
Best Buddies: Generally peaceful with robust reef fish (wrasses, clowns, rabbitfish). Avoid mixing with similarly shaped tangs in smaller systems; mind the sharp caudal “scalpel.”
