A calm, spacious African cichlid aquarium with sandy substrate, open swimming room, and gentle rockwork. Known for their iconic “forehead hump” (nuchal hump) that develops as males mature, Blue Dolphins are peaceful for Malawi standards and prefer living in groups. Feed high-quality cichlid pellets, spirulina, krill, and occasional frozen foods to promote color and steady growth.

Best Buddies:
Works well in a Malawi setup with other mild-mannered Haps and Peacocks that won’t bully them. Avoid aggressive Mbuna that may outcompete or harass them. Ideal in tanks 75+ gallons, especially once adults.
