Name: Blue Dot Toby Puffer
Scientific Name: Canthigaster solandri
Maximum Length: About 4 inches
Favorite Things: Rockwork, caves, and plenty of open swimming room. The Blue Dot Toby Puffer is one of the most attractive small puffers, featuring a rusty orange body with bright blue spots and electric blue facial markings. They’re curious, interactive, and full of personality.
They readily eat frozen mysis, brine, clam, chopped seafood, and pellet foods. Hard-shelled items like cockle or clam help wear down their constantly growing beak.
Best Buddies: Great for peaceful FOWLR systems with tangs, hawkfish, wrasses, clowns, and larger gobies. Not reef-safe—may nip at inverts and soft corals. Avoid housing with tiny fish or ornamental shrimp.
