Scientific Name: Microglanis iheringi (South American Bumblebee Catfish)
Maximum Length: About 3–4 inches
Favorite Things: Dim lighting, caves, driftwood, and smooth hiding spots. Bumblebee Catfish are nocturnal micro-predators known for their striking yellow-and-black banding and shy daytime behavior. They become active at night, scavenging leftover food and patrolling the bottom.
They thrive on sinking pellets, wafers, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and small meaty foods.
Best Buddies: Great for peaceful community tanks with tetras, rasboras, gourami, rainbowfish, and corydoras. Avoid very small nano fish or shrimp—tiny tankmates may be eaten at night. Completely plant-safe.
