Favorite Things: Clean, warm water, moderate flow, and a well-decorated aquarium with driftwood, plants, and open swimming space. The Electric Blue Acara is one of the most popular “semi-peaceful” cichlids thanks to its glowing neon-blue coloration, gentle temperament, and compatibility with a wide range of tankmates.
They thrive on high-quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods (mysis, brine, bloodworms), and color-enhancing flakes. Easy to care for and adaptable, making them a fantastic first cichlid.
Best Buddies: Peaceful to moderately aggressive fish—rainbowfish, larger tetras, severums, geos, angelfish, and similar-sized cichlids. Avoid tiny nano fish or highly aggressive Central American cichlids.
