Maximum Length: About 5–6 inches
Favorite Things: Rockwork combined with open swimming space. The Yellowtail Acei is one of the least aggressive Mbuna and is instantly recognizable by its deep purple-blue body and bright yellow tail and fins. They thrive on a largely herbivorous diet—spirulina flakes, algae wafers, and veggie-heavy cichlid pellets.
Best Buddies: Excellent for more peaceful Mbuna setups. Works great with labs, rusties, and other milder Malawi species. Best kept in groups of 4–6 or more for natural shoaling behavior. Avoid very aggressive Mbuna varieties.
