Name: Dojo Loach – Large (Weather Loach)
Scientific Name: Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Maximum Length: Up to 10–12 inches
Favorite Things: Cool, clean aquariums with fine sand or smooth gravel substrate and plenty of hiding spots. Known for their friendly, active behavior—these loaches often “dance” when storms approach due to barometric pressure changes. They enjoy scavenging for leftover food, sinking pellets, and frozen bloodworms. Extremely hardy and long-lived.
Best Buddies: Peaceful with all community fish that prefer cooler water such as goldfish, white clouds, and danios. Avoid mixing with aggressive cichlids or large predators.
