Maximum Length: Up to 16 inches
Favorite Things: Spacious aquariums (75+ gallons for juveniles, 120+ for adults), strong filtration, and clean, well-oxygenated water. Prefers a meaty diet — snails, clams, shrimp, crayfish, and occasional frozen fish. Extremely intelligent and interactive; recognizes its keeper and will beg for food.
Best Buddies: Can be territorial and aggressive toward tankmates as it matures. Can sometimes cohabitate with other large or smaller but fast species in big tanks.
