The Gold Balloon Ram is a vibrant dwarf cichlid known for its brilliant yellow coloration and compact “balloon” body shape. This selectively bred variation of the popular German Blue Ram combines the peaceful temperament of rams with a bright golden color that stands out beautifully in planted aquariums.

Gold Balloon Rams are relatively peaceful and do well with other calm community fish such as tetras, rasboras, and small catfish. They prefer warm, stable water conditions and aquariums with plants, driftwood, and gentle filtration. When comfortable, these fish often display curious personalities and can even form pairs.

A high-quality diet of micro pellets, frozen foods, and occasional live foods helps maintain their health and coloration. Because rams prefer warm, clean water, regular water changes and stable conditions are important for long-term success.
