Maximum Length: About 5–6 inches
Favorite Things: Mature reef aquariums with a fine sand bed for burying, stable water parameters, and peaceful tankmates. This species is admired for its intricate leopard-like spotting and graceful swimming behavior. Feeds best on a varied diet of frozen mysis, finely chopped seafood, and prepared foods once acclimated. Sand is required for nighttime sleeping and stress reduction.
Best Buddies: Peaceful reef fish such as fairy wrasses, gobies, anthias, and clownfish. Avoid aggressive tankmates and overly competitive feeders. Best kept singly unless housed in very large systems.
