Favorite Things: Clean, well-oxygenated water, moderate flow, and a tank with plenty of biofilm and natural surfaces to graze on. The Hercules Snail is a large, impressive river snail with a thick, ridged, cone-shaped shell and slow, steady behavior. They are hardy, peaceful, and a standout addition to planted aquariums.
They feed on algae, biofilm, sinking wafers, shrimp pellets, and blanched veggies. Unlike pest snails, they do not reproduce rapidly in freshwater aquariums.
Best Buddies: Perfect for community tanks, planted aquariums, shrimp tanks, and with any peaceful fish that won’t nip at snails. Completely plant-safe and tank-safe.
