Scientific Name: Pimelodus pictus
Maximum Length: About 4–5 inches (though some may grow larger in ideal conditions)
Favorite Things: Peaceful community tanks with plenty of swimming space and hiding spots (driftwood, caves). They are active nocturnal to crepuscular buzzer-type swimmers. Feed with sinking wafers, small pellets, frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. They thrive in groups of 3-5.
Best Buddies: Compatible with medium-sized community fish such as tetras, barbs, gouramis, and livebearers. Avoid tiny fish (they may pick at) and aggressive surface-feeding species. Also avoid very small tanks (<30 gallons) as they like room.
