Rotala "Small Leaf" Macrandra (Giant Red Rotala, Rose Red Rotala)

This mid ground plant produces small to medium-sized, delicate, oval leaves which display deep red to pinkish hues. It is a 4 on a difficulty scale of 1 to 10 because it needs a nutrient-rich substrate for its growth and some attention. It thrives in soft to moderately hard, slightly acidic water conditions with average lighting.

Under ideal submerged conditions, it grows quickly into an upright stem, while in emerged (above-water) forms, it has smaller, rounder green leaves.
