Maximum Length: About 3–3.5 inches
Favorite Things: Calm, well-oxygenated aquariums with open swimming space near the surface. These unique surface-dwelling fish have elongated “beaks” and exhibit fascinating social interactions—especially mild “wrestling” displays between males. They prefer slightly brackish to freshwater conditions depending on origin and thrive on floating foods such as micro pellets, crushed flakes, small insects, and frozen brine shrimp.
Best Buddies: Peaceful mid- and bottom-level tankmates like rasboras, corydoras, kuhli loaches, and small rainbowfish. Avoid fin-nippers and aggressive species.
