Maximum Length: Can reach 24–30 inches in adulthood
Favorite Things: Soft substrate (sand or fine gravel), dim lighting, driftwood tunnels, rock caves, and peaceful tankmates. Enjoys meaty foods such as bloodworms, blackworms, chopped shrimp, and sinking carnivore pellets. Known for its distinctive maze-like “tire track” pattern and curious but shy behavior.
Best Buddies: Works well with medium to large peaceful fish such as rainbowfish, silver dollars, geophagus, and larger barbs. Avoid very small fish or shrimp that may be seen as food. Requires a secure lid—excellent escape artist.
