Favorite Things: Open, planted aquariums with clean, well-oxygenated water and plenty of swimming space. Males develop brilliant blue-green metallic coloration that intensifies with age and good lighting. Enjoys a varied omnivorous diet—high-quality flakes, spirulina pellets, and frozen or live brine shrimp. Keep in groups of 6 or more for best color and natural schooling behavior.
Best Buddies: Peaceful community species such as tetras, barbs, gouramis, corydoras, and livebearers. Avoid fin-nipping or aggressive tankmates.
