Favorite Things: Long swim lanes, strong flow, and nonstop grazing; supplement with nori/seaweed sheets, spirulina pellets, and occasional mysis. Juveniles are bright yellow (mimic angelfish), turning chocolate/gray with the signature orange shoulder as adults.
Best Buddies: Generally peaceful with robust reef fish (wrasses, clowns, rabbitfish). Avoid mixing with similarly shaped Acanthurus tangs in smaller systems; handle carefully—sharp caudal “scalpel.”
