Zebra Urchin / Banded Longspine Urchin

A striking Indo-Pacific urchin recognized by its long, slender black-and-white banded spines and contrasting shorter secondary spines. Zebra Urchins are active algae grazers that add considerably more visual interest than a typical pincushion or tuxedo urchin. They are primarily nocturnal and should be handled cautiously because the spines can deliver a painful sting.

Max Size: ~5–6" body, considerably larger including spines
Minimum Aquarium Size: 30 gallons
Diet: Marine algae, film algae, turf algae, dried seaweed/nori, and supplemental herbivore foods when natural grazing is insufficient.
